What is the B-Shot procedure?

B-Shot involves the precise injection of botulinum toxin into selected areas of the penis. Its effect on vascular smooth muscle may promote improved blood flow, which in some men may translate into better quality and duration of erections. The procedure forms part of the clinic’s aesthetic urologisty services.

Important: B-Shot does not replace the diagnosis of the causes of erectile dysfunction. Persistent or worsening erection problems should always be assessed by a urologistist first, as they may have vascular, hormonal or other causes.

Who may consider B-Shot?

  • men with mild or moderate erection difficulties,
  • people looking for minimally invasive ways to support sexual function,
  • patients wishing to improve intimate quality of life and self-confidence,
  • people interested in aesthetic urologisty treatments.

A urologistist decides whether the procedure is appropriate after assessing the patient’s health and ruling out contraindications.

How is the procedure performed?

  1. Consultation and eligibility assessment. The urologistist assesses the indications, discusses expectations and rules out contraindications.
  2. Anaesthesia. An anaesthetic cream is applied to the area for comfort.
  3. Injection. Botulinum toxin is administered precisely; the procedure usually takes 15–30 minuteses.
  4. Aftercare instructions. The patient receives post-procedure instructions.

Recovery

  • normal daily activities can be resumed almost immediately,
  • avoid strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours,
  • avoid hot baths, saunas and sexual intercourse during the first days, usually for about 48 hours,
  • mild swelling or redness at the injection site usually subsides within 1–2 days.

Contraindications

  • hypersensitivity to botulinum toxin or any ingredient of the product,
  • active infections in the penile area,
  • certain systemic diseases, such as uncontrolled diabetes,
  • blood-clotting disorders or anticoagulant treatment, subject to medical consultation,
  • certain neuromuscular disorders, such as myasthenia gravis.

A urologistist performs the full eligibility assessment during the consultation.

„With appropriate patient selection and performance by an experienced specialist, the risk of complications is low. We always begin with a consultation because the choice of method and indications depends on the patient’s individual circumstances."

Frequently asked questions

Is the procedure painful?

An anaesthetic cream is applied to the area, so the procedure is generally well tolerated. Most patients experience only mild discomfort.

When do the effects appear and how long do they last?

The first effects usually appear after 7–14 days and last on average 3–6 months, depending on individual factors. The procedure may be repeated.

Does B-Shot replace erectile dysfunction medication?

No. B-Shot does not replace the diagnosis or treatment of erectile dysfunction. Persistent erection problems should first be assessed by a urologistist because they may have a more serious underlying cause.

Is the procedure safe?
