What is the B-Shot procedure?

B-Shot involves the precise injection of botulinum toxin into specific areas of the penis. The effect of the toxin on vascular smooth muscles may support improved blood flow, which in some men may translate into better erection quality and duration. The procedure is part of aesthetic urology.

Important: B-Shot does not replace diagnostics of the causes of erectile dysfunction. Persistent or severe erection problems should always be assessed first by a urologist, as they may have, among other causes, a vascular or hormonal basis.

Who is B-Shot for?

  • men with mild or moderate erection difficulties,
  • people looking for non-invasive methods to support sexual function,
  • patients who want to improve intimate quality of life and self-confidence,
  • people interested in aesthetic urology solutions.

The urologist decides whether the procedure is appropriate after assessing the patient’s health and excluding contraindications.

How does the procedure work?

  1. Consultation and qualification. The urologist assesses indications, discusses expectations, and excludes contraindications.
  2. Anaesthesia. The area is protected with anaesthetic cream for comfort.
  3. Injection of the preparation. Botulinum toxin is administered precisely; the procedure usually takes 15–30 minutes.
  4. Recommendations. The patient receives post-procedure instructions.

Recovery

  • return to daily activities is possible almost immediately,
  • avoid intense physical activity for 24–48 hours,
  • avoid hot baths, sauna, and intercourse during the first days — usually for about 48 hours,
  • possible slight swelling or redness at the injection site usually subsides within 1–2 days.

Contraindications

  • hypersensitivity to botulinum toxin or ingredients of the preparation,
  • active infections in the penile area,
  • some systemic diseases, for example uncontrolled diabetes,
  • coagulation disorders or anticoagulant medication — after consultation,
  • selected neuromuscular diseases, for example myasthenia gravis.

Full qualification is performed by the urologist during consultation.

“With proper qualification and when performed by an experienced specialist, the risk of complications is minimal. We always start with a consultation, because the choice of method and indications depend on the patient’s individual situation.”

— Jakub Krukowski, MD, PhD, urologist
