phimosis treatment for adults — discreet care
Phimosis is a narrowing of the foreskin that makes it difficult or impossible to retract it freely over the glans. In Gdańsk we treat it in adults — from conservative methods, through preputioplasty, to circumcision.
The method is chosen by the urologist individually, after a consultation. Not every case of phimosis ends in circumcision — a foreskin-preserving procedure is often enough.
The method and price are determined by the urologist after consultation. Appointments are usually available within a few days.
| Consultation / procedure | Price |
|---|---|
| Urological consultation | 280 PLN |
| Preputioplasty | 3000 PLN |
| Circumcision | from 2700 PLN |
The final method and price are determined after consultation — the choice is guided by medical indications, not by the price of the procedure. Details of circumcision: circumcision procedure page. Full urology price list.

Phimosis can cause difficulties with hygiene, pain during erection and intercourse, recurrent inflammation of the glans and foreskin, and in acute situations paraphimosis. Left untreated it can be a source of discomfort and complications, which is why it is worth consulting a urologist.
If the retracted foreskin tightens behind the glans and cannot be moved back, and the glans becomes swollen and painful — this is a condition requiring urgent medical attention. Do not wait for a scheduled appointment: call +48 600 006 913 or go to an emergency department.
In some cases, particularly mild ones, steroid ointments and gentle foreskin-stretching exercises help. This is the first-line method when there are no indications for a procedure.
A foreskin-preserving procedure that widens the foreskin without removing it. It allows the foreskin to be kept while removing the narrowing — considered when the patient wishes to avoid circumcision.
Complete or partial removal of the foreskin — a permanent solution for severe phimosis or recurrent inflammation. More on the circumcision page.
Treatment is preceded by a urological consultation, during which the doctor examines the foreskin, determines the degree of phimosis and discusses the possible methods. Together with the patient, the doctor chooses the solution best suited to their situation.
"Many patients arrive convinced that phimosis always means circumcision. In fact, in many cases preputioplasty is enough. That is why we start with a calm assessment and match the method to the specific situation."
— Jakub Kłącz, MD, PhD, urologist
The urologist will examine the foreskin and select a method — from conservative treatment to a procedure. Discreetly and without queues.
In some cases yes — steroid ointments and stretching exercises can help. When conservative treatment does not work or the phimosis is severe, procedures are considered: preputioplasty or circumcision. The method is chosen by the urologist after examination.
No. In many cases preputioplasty is possible — it removes the narrowing while preserving the foreskin. Circumcision is used when it is medically indicated or when the patient chooses this option. The choice is discussed during consultation.
Treatment is provided by four of the clinic's urologists: Jakub Kłącz, MD, PhD, Jakub Krukowski, MD, PhD, Jakub Gondek, MD and Artur Abazzov, MD. Availability is shown in the clinic calendar → If you have no preference, our reception will help you choose a doctor and an appointment time.
The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia, which limits sensation during it. Afterwards temporary swelling or discomfort may appear, subsiding within a few days. The patient goes home the same day.
Phimosis itself is not life-threatening, but left untreated it can lead to recurrent inflammation, hygiene problems, pain during intercourse and, in its acute form, to paraphimosis requiring urgent care.
Depending on the method, returning to full activity takes from a few days to about two weeks. It is recommended to abstain from intercourse and intense exertion for the period indicated by the doctor, and to take care of local hygiene.
Leave your number and we will call during reception hours. Discretion guaranteed.
