What are pearly penile papules?
Pearly penile papules are small, pearl-like bumps measuring 1–3 mm in diameter, arranged in rows around the glans. They occur naturally in a significant proportion of men and are benign, non-contagious, and asymptomatic — they do not hurt, itch, bleed, or turn into anything dangerous.

What are they sometimes confused with?
- genital warts (HPV warts) — contagious, irregular, and may grow; pearly penile papules are symmetrical and stable,
- Fordyce spots — different, also benign skin lesions,
- milia and small pimples — they differ in location and absence of symptoms,
- concern about cancer — pearly penile papules are benign and do not develop into cancer.
Why CO2 laser?
The CO2 laser vaporizes the papules precisely, point by point, without damaging the surrounding skin. Compared with cryotherapy or electrocoagulation, it is usually associated with a lower risk of scarring and discoloration, and healing is faster.
